Spain’s Pablo Sanchez-Valladares edged him to take second in 1:44.79, while Ireland’s Mark English claimed victory in 1:44.67, breaking the meeting record. For English, the result underlined his strong form as he heads towards the Tokyo Olympics, while Sanchez-Valladares confirmed his consistency at international level.
