Ethiopia dominated the women’s 3000m steeplechase at the 2025 Absa Kip Keino Classic in Nairobi, with Wosane Asefa leading a clean podium sweep in a lifetime best of 9:30.68. Teammates Kena Tufa (9:31.72) and Firehiwot Gesese (9:32.09) took silver and bronze.
The victory marked Ethiopia’s first gold at the meet, part of the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold. Kenyan favorite Jackline Chepkoech finished fifth in 9:44.48.
