Lilian Odira thrilled home fans at the 2025 Absa Kip Keino Classic, a World Athletics Continental Tour Gold, in Nairobi by winning the women’s 800m in a personal best of 1:58.31, securing her spot at the Tokyo 2025 World Championships. The African silver medalist surged past Botswana’s Oratile Nowe and African champion Sarah Moraa in a dramatic final sprint at the Ulinzi Sports Complex. Nowe and Moraa also clocked personal bests, finishing second and third respectively.
