Kenyan relay teams for Bahamas Worlds are in safe hands. This was the strong message sent by Mercy Chebet as she cruised to the tape to win silver in women's 400m in 51.71.
Adekoya Kemi of Bahrain won the race in 51.63 while Shida Leni of Uganda was third in 52.41.
Chebet did not only win the go glittering silver in the high level contest but she also set for herself a national record.
The second place buoyed Chebet who is looking forward for Olympics qualification with the Kenyan relay sides in Bahamas.
"Today's performance has motivated me as I prepare for World Relay championship, I had targeted to clock 51. 00 but I am not disappointed," Chebet underlined.
